Inside-Out Design is a full-service design firm located in Merivale, Christchurch. Formed by brother and sister Ben McMaster and Jane Rennie, Inside-Out Design offers services from Landscape Design, Interior Design, and Architectural Design (coming soon). This allows clients a complete or tailored use of our services. With awards and accolades accumulated throughout each of Ben and Jane’s careers, Inside-Out Design since its beginnings in 1990 is focused on offering sophisticated and bespoke solutions.
The inside of Inside-Out Design, is led by Jane Rennie (right) who began her career in England studying a Diploma of Interior Design at Inchbald School of Design. Stemming from this education, an affinity for using a mixture of enduring materials, textures, and complementary colours, has long developed throughout her careers in her interiors. This consequentially has enabled her design solutions to offer contemporary yet timeless outcomes.

Landscape design has long been a part of Ben McMaster’s life, as from a young age began a curiosity of how a landscape can transform an environment. Fast forward, Ben has established himself within the industry through his extensive education;
- Diploma Horticulture at Lincoln University
- Diploma Garden Design Inchbald School of Design
- Diploma Garden Design at Kew Gardens
Consequentially, accolades followed with a bronze and silver at Ellerslie International Garden Show, and silver in the Auckland Ellerslie Garden Show to name a few.
This ethos and dedication obtained throughout his career is continued at Inside-Out where the focus on early consulting and concept development through to design and build, then maintenance, a holistic outlook is formed with the client at the centre of it.
